The Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm f/1.8 ZA is a premium lens for emount system camera. It offers the equivalent angle of view as a 36mm lens on a 35mm camera and features a near-circular 7 blade diaphragm which creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas of the image. It has a minimum focusing distance of 16cm/6in and a maximum magnification of 0.25x.

Due note this lens does not have OSS or built-in optical steady shot.  Being a wide-angle lens, the benefits of image stabilization are not as pronounced as they are on a longer lens because the stabilization system doesn't sense all that much movement with such a large area of coverage.  Sony claims the lens has eight elements in seven groups, including two surface aspherical elements and one ED element.  This lens is marked made in Japan

The emount camera and have been thoroughly impressed.This lens as a walk around and street lens, have fantastic color that seems to give three dimensional properties to your images. I`s also very fast at 1.8 full aperture full open is sharp across the frame and gives very contrasty foto, which is quite unique for a wide angle. It`s very light weight but sturdy and well finished. It comes with a nice plastic hood which fits well. this is what makes Zeiss famous and comparible with truly great lenses.
 

If put Image stabilization would be nice but would add weight and cost most likely. CA can be a little harsh if overexposed by much.  (though comparably not as bad as you think). but can correct via poss processing :)

It needs to be known e-mount and 24mm f1.8 worked together as an excellent combination to shoot some of the stunning photos in that post

With that said though, I need to say that the bokeh quality of this lens is absolutely wonderful at f1.8. It doesn’t remind me of anything that Zeiss makes though nor does it have their characteristic micro-contrast.Most users will be pleasantly surprised with the capabilities of this lens. not only is the image quality an absolute beaut, but it also focuses extremely quickly and fast and almost silent.
